Art and chemistry
We had SO much fun discovering how chemistry is central to many different art materials! Your kids have explored different types of paper and graphite, charcoals, pencils, created an egg tempera paint and more! Here are some pictures, enjoy!
“Art and Chemistry” is about the science in art, the history and make up of objects, textures and tools manipulated by artists. Thinking of art and its components through the lens of chemistry helps one become more intimate with the materials, to distinguish mediums from each other, teaches us about their origins and unravels the latent connections revealing the meaning behind their existence.
