Student testimonial. "Cogitania is a fun science class, where you get to do fun experiments and be with your friends. Cogitania is/was enjoyable because we don't just study the same topics and we get to work with partners who can sometimes teach you more than the teacher."
— Christopher W. Ramanathan, student

Why learn like scientists learn?

Enrichment classes often introduce students to the effects, or the “magic” of science, while at school they often focus on its content.

What they learn at Cogitania is quite different. Cogitania teaches students to learn like scientists learn. At Cogitania, students model the process of science, which moves from evidence, to hypothesis, to theory. Iterating through these stages using visuals and artifacts or experiments whenever possible.

Cogitania guides discovery to invite students to the heart of sophisticated concepts, where they can participate in how they bear the burden of explanation, and sometimes break. The frontiers of science are nearer than we often think. By learning to learn like scientists, students begin to understand as science understands, and to understand themselves as scientists.
