fluorescent marking
Dear Parents,
The Particle-in-a-Box was what we have learned today in our session. We derived the energy of a particle at different quantum levels using the Schrodinger equation and wave function. The young scientists then explored fluorescence and energy transformations through an experiment that analyzed various fluorescing molecules under UV light. By defining the box lengths for each molecule, the students deduced a pattern for the relationship between box length and the light emitted. We then finished the lesson with how this can be extended into fluorescent marking of various components in the cell, and each student drew out a new structure that could possibly lead to the production of red fluorescence.
Have a warm, heartfelt Holiday time and we will reunite first on the 1/17th! Thank you so much for sharing your kids with me.
