Flexing those muscles
Dear parents,
Your kids have added to their knowledge of the skeletal system and joints, how the muscles attach to their body. We distinguished, using VTS (visual thinking strategies) between a tendon and a ligament, search where are they located in our body and why. We talked about the structure of a muscle.
The session ended with yet another piece of their engineering project: attaching a muscle to the working bone and hinge joint. The budding anatomists have been persistent but did not succeed yet. Helga and I talked about giving them more opportunity for engineering in the future, as it embraces creativity but does not end with it. They also have to understand the limits of given materials and have a skill to work with it.
