The Science Behind Technology Workshop

This workshop will be held in Cogitania, 1402 Beacon str, Brookline, from June 13–17 and June 20–24 from 12:30-2:30PM. Instructor, Ryan Penhallurick has envisioned this workshop as a brief introduction to the chemistry / science of modern technology.

Most students, and even the general public, do not understand the physical meaning behind the technology we use every day. Every keystroke we type, the pixels we see on a monitor, microphones used at speeches and the emergence of many new pharmaceutical drugs all are derived from new insights into science, especially nanomaterials and solid state chemistry.

I hope the course will make the technology students use every day have more meaning in their lives, and build a better appreciation for the complex and awesome science behind everything they use.
