What it takes to become a Chemist
Dear Friends,
Today in Exploring Chemistry at Cogitania we looked at why bonds form, and then went one step further, to look at the types of bonds that make molecules. This discussion included understanding what ionic and covalent bond are, and then how chemists name and depict these types of bonds. Then, we conducted an experiment with hydrogen peroxide, yeast and soap (Elephant’s toothpaste) in order to better understand bonding and continue to think critically and more like chemists, in order to better understand the reaction that took place.
Your kids are slowly processing what it takes to become a chemist … we are so proud of them.
